2020 - 2024 -
As a Staff ML Dev at
Unico IDTech, I developed a new Face Biometric System. It was trained on a huge proprietary dataset, with a focus on scalability to hundreds of millions of people. The deployment focused on high availability, utilizing only CPUs on the backend - no GPUs or TPUs were employed. Also worked on other projects, such as OCR applied to key information extraction of documents and face spoofing detection.
2015 - 2020
Co-founder and tech lead on Meerkat. Developed several solutions, such as real-time Face Biometric System, Automatic License Plate Detector for multiple countries, key information extraction from documents. Many solutions were deployed across various platforms, including iOS, Android, Windows, Linux and Cloud.
2010 - 2015
PhD in Computer Vision, on the topic of Free Viewpoint Synthesis. Within this topic, I've proposed a triangular mesh disparity map estimation, that gracefully extended to a 3D view of the scene. Implemented the project using C++, with CUDA and OpenGL for the highest performance possible.
2005 - 2010
Computer Engineer degree. Worked with several interesting topics, such as the use of PLCs (programmable logic controllers) to monitor power usage; team member on
FURGBOL, responsible for the vision and parallel programming, and we won both nationals and Latin America Robocup competitions; implemented a 3D voxel-based optical flow for human tracking across multiple cameras on my dissertation.
